Eureka Valley

Its several Muni bus routes and proximity to BART make Eureka Valley an excellent location for commuting throughout the Bay Area. While the 1906 San Francisco earthquake destroyed much of the city due to the resulting fire, Eureka Valley evaded major damage. Thousands of earthquake refugees poured into the neighborhood and constructed cottages and flats. Today, those well-maintained Victorian-era homes line street after beautiful street. The Castro District, the heart of LGBTQ+ community, throws the annual Castro Street Fair with live entertainment, community-group stalls and an artisan alley with lots of local artists. The historic Castro Street Theater, with its colossal Wurlitzer organ, offers an diverse mix of old movies and plays. On warm & sunny days, locals head to Dolores Park to enjoy stunning views of the City and the East Bay. Families flock to the park for picnics, barbeques and spontaneous games of soccer. Real estate in Eureka Valley includes multi-family flats, single-family homes, and condos. Many homes have a deck and/or private gardens. Hillside homes offer incredible views of the East Bay, downtown San Francisco, Twin Peaks and Corona Heights.
